Customize a 100-Hinge/Split Series Dryer Bearing Assembly

Hinged Hanger Frames make conversion to all 100 series bearing cartridges a snap. The unique design of these frames makes them the easiest to install in the industry. By allowing the frame to open then close around the shaft, no other components of the dryer need be removed or altered.

Remove the old hanger by unbolting or cutting, slip the correct hinged hanger around the shaft, close it, bolt it in place, and install the bearing cartridge. If a 100-HS split cartridge is utilized, removal of additional shaft mounted components is unnecessary. The 100-HF series hinged hanger frames use Metcar's standard S-100 Clip lock to retain the cartridge, eliminating the need to use frames with spring retainers or "open" tops.

How To Order

When ordering a Type 100 Series Bearing Assembly, the following information is needed to determine the correct assembly for your application:
  1. Choose a hanger frame suitable for your application. Include with this, the direction of rotation of shaft as viewed from the end of the shaft closest to the assembly.
  2. Choose a bearing cartridge - keep in mind that the 100 series bearing cartridges will only fit in the 100 Series Hanger Frames. Solid bearing cartridges of the same design are less expensive than the hinged split cartridges.
  3. Choose a grade - if you do not know the applicable grade, a grade can be determined based on the maximum temperature and other operating conditions of the application
  4. Specify the bore size or shaft size required for the application
  5. An S-100 Clip Lock is necessary for each assembly to hold the bearing cartridge in place.
